Happy New Year!!

A new year is a great time to start setting goals for yourself. A new year is a fresh start, new beginning, let's embrace it!!

For the past 2 years I have practiced yoga here in my home. I first started on the Wii Fit and then bought a few DVD's, also picked up Yoga Journal magazine and started finding videos online. I really love yoga for how it makes my body feel but also how I am in tune to what my body is telling me both during the practice and in everyday living.
Although I have been practicing for the past 2 years, I have been in and out of routines. I used to get up every morning at 6am and did 20-30 minutes before getting ready for work. Lately, I've been lazy. Only doing it once or twice a week, sometimes not even that. It's been hard, it's winter and my bed is so warm that when 6am comes and I am suppose to get up to start my day, I usually stay in my warm toasty bed until the last possible minute and regret it for the rest of the day.

I needed something to get me motivated, a kick start to get me moving in the morning! I was on the Yoga Journal website and came across the 21 Day Yoga Challenge through Social Workout. It is a community of people who are committed to 21 days of 1 yoga practice, 1 vegetarian meal and 15 minutes of mediation each day for 21 days.
This is the websites overview of the challenge "Each track includes a daily video, weekly meditations, and daily newsletters with practice tips and recipes. Plus, all participants can set goals and track their progress, either solo or in teams, to keep you motivated"

I have signed up and wanted to post it here in case any of you are looking for a way to get moving this year. I have never been one to set goals for myself but I am hoping that this will be something I can stick to! I will post my results with the program when the 21 days are over! If you are interested head to http://www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/ and sign up! Challenge starts tomorrow!! Good luck :)!!

:) Happy New Year!
